Panasonic NN-SN966S Review - A great microwave countertop oven? 3This countertop stainless tells microwave oven has the highest cooking power of 1250 watts and occupies a 2.2 cubic foot space. With its sleek design and compact appearance, it is sure to give your kitchen a modern look!

It has external dimensions of 14 x 23.9 x 19.4 inches (H x W x D) internal dimensions of 10.94 x 18.44 x 18.50 inches (H x W x D). Weighing in at 37 pounds (approx. 16.8 kg), this microwave is slightly lighter than average. These dimensions allow for giving less space to electronics and more to the interior capacity and efficiency.

It comes in two control systems: the keypad and the dial. The keypad has a thin and lightweight 16.5-inch turntable, and the dial has a similar 15-inch turntable. Though the look and major attributes of both styles remain the same, the dial comes with more features, which will be discussed later in this article.

This microwave works on more advanced technology from its counterparts, leading to better food processing capabilities. One of its key features is its use of the Panasonic patentedInvertor Technology.

Advanced and new properties

Most common microwaves run on magnetron for heating. This heating system gives rise to power fluctuation, leading to a varying temperature inside the microwave. This can cause over or undercooking of your food, depriving you and your loved ones the food experience you deserve.

The Panasonic NN-SN966S Microwave counters this problem with the company’s patented Invertor Technology. This cooking technology allows for constant power with no variation, providing uniform and even cooking of the food in less time, with succulent and delicious flavor.

The built-in Genius Sensor also deserves a note of its own. This is a feature I really appreciate and is one that is mostly seen in only the very topmost range of microwaves. This sensor manages to adjust power and time to cook the food by sensing its level of moisture. Say goodbye to manually adjust such setting and guesswork while trying new recipes!

Standard Properties

A Keep Warm Feature also keeps soups, desserts, and gravies warm until ready to serve. It lets you set cooking and reheating times in 30 second intervals (up to 5 minutes) as well.  It has delay start and timer features, a special popcorn setting with three cooking levels, a 12-hour clock, and a child safety lock as well.  These are simple attributes; I believe but are highly useful ones.

Panasonic NN-SN966S Review - A great microwave countertop oven? 5The features given above are common to both dial and keypad systems. The dial, despite looking slightly clunkier than its counterpart, comes with more pre-set auto cook options. The keypad comes with 14 pre-set auto cook options such as quinoa, frozen vegetables, entrees and pizzas, potatoes, and pasta.

The dial, however, comes with 19 pre-set auto cook options, providing for ground meat, frozen pocket sandwiches, white and brown rice, and stew, among other options.

Some features available in other microwave models seem to be missing. It lacks a rack for bi-level heating. A convection mode, which allows for baking and roasting as in a traditional oven, is not there either. These are not essential characteristics, in my belief, but they do add the functionality and versatility of the product, which is not seen here.

Even though the many benefits of this microwave model surpass its drawbacks, the drawbacks exist, and even if they do not really impact the user experience, they are noticeable. Some of them are listed below for you to check out:

Pros.

Cons.

A Final Word

With its simple but chic look, the Panasonic NN-SN966S Microwave may come across as ordinary, but that could not be further from the truth. This is a microwave that has managed to surpass all its rivals, leaving them behind by a long shot, achieved due to the ground-breaking technology provided by Panasonic.

It does lack some basic abilities found in its rivals, but it is made up for by the advanced technology it uses, unlike regular microwaves. Though the differences caused by this technology are subtle, they cause a noticeable effect on user experience.

Staying true to its heritage of technological innovation., Panasonic has yet again proved itself the leader in this industry by providing a microwave with such unique features. This is one of the best microwave models available in the market today.
